What Affects the Pricing of Commission Painted Miniatures?
The pricing of commission painted miniatures at Rogue Miniatures is influenced by several key factors:
Complexity of the Miniature: Miniatures with intricate designs, multiple components, or unique features require more time and skill to paint. This complexity affects the overall cost.
Size of the Miniature: Larger miniatures, such as titans or large monsters, typically require more paint and time to complete, resulting in a higher price point compared to standard-sized models.
Detailing and Customisation: The level of detail requested, including advanced techniques like weathering, freehand designs, or custom colour schemes, can significantly impact the pricing. More detailed work requires additional time and expertise.
Timeline and Urgency: If you require a quicker turnaround, this can affect the price. Rushed orders typically incur additional fees due to prioritisation of the workload.
Shipping Costs: As we offer worldwide shipping, the destination can influence total pricing due to varying shipping rates and potential customs fees.
Each commission is unique, and we aim to provide transparent pricing based on these variables to ensure you receive a fair quote tailored to your specific needs.

The length of time to complete a Rogue Miniatures commission is influenced by several factors. Here are the primary elements that affect completion time:
Complexity of the Miniature: Intricate designs or multi-part miniatures require more time due to the added details that need to be painted. The level of complexity can significantly impact the overall timeline.
Quantity of Miniatures: Larger orders naturally take longer to complete. If a client commissions multiple miniatures, the total time will extend beyond that of a single piece.
Painting Standards: We aim for box art-quality finishes. Achieving this level of detail takes time, especially when it involves multiple layers, shading, and highlighting techniques.
Current Workload: Our schedule can affect turnaround time. During peak seasons or high-demand periods, commissions may take longer to complete. We communicate timelines upfront to manage expectations.
Client Customisation Requests: Specific requests for unique colour schemes or additional features can add to the time required for a project. Clear communication about these specifications helps in estimating timelines accurately.
Drying Times: Painting is not solely about brushwork. The time for paint layers to dry properly—especially when using techniques like glazing—can also impact the overall timeline.
By considering these factors, we strive to ensure that the majority of our painting commissions are completed within our targeted time-frame of 10 weeks.

Once work has started, we typically don’t offer refunds. However, we’ll always aim to resolve any issues — customer satisfaction is important to us.
